For their first Valentine’s Day as husband and wife, they wanted to capture the essence of their relationship—raw, playful, and deeply connected. And what better backdrop than the breathtaking landscape of Carr Canyon in Hereford, Arizona?
Leonnela describes their relationship as “sunshine and rainbows meets a bit of a grouch,” a dynamic that somehow just works. She brings the light, and Brian—though he might not be the biggest fan of having his picture taken—grounds their love in something steady and real.
Even in the moments where Brian might have felt out of his comfort zone in front of the camera, the love between them was undeniable. Their natural laughter, the way he holds her close, the small gestures of affection—it all tells a story deeper than words could express.
One of their favorite things to do together? Dance. Whether it’s in the kitchen, at a wedding, or under the Arizona sky, it’s a rhythm that binds them. That energy, that movement, is what makes their love so alive. And even in still images, you can see it—the way they lean into each other, the way their hands find one another instinctively.
This session wasn’t just about capturing portraits. It was about documenting the early chapters of their marriage, a tangible memory they can look back on years down the road. The golden hues of the desert, the crisp mountain air of Carr Canyon, and the love between them all came together to create something truly special. They even added their sweet baby niece in for a few shots!
Leonnela left a heartfelt review after our session, saying that despite Brian not being a fan of photos, I was able to capture him and their love perfectly. That, to me, is what it’s all about—telling a love story exactly as it is.
So here’s to the beginning of their forever—imperfect, full of surprises, and endlessly beautiful.
